First Aid for Infant & Junior Schools 1 day practical training + eLearning

Our Paediatric First Aid + Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is the ideal solution for schools that have both a requirement for Paediatric First Aid and Adult based EFAW. This course is the most popular choice for schools and will meet your full statutory requirement when working with children from Nursery through to Year 13, meeting both Ofsted and HSE guidelines.

One day of practical training plus an at home eLearning module, which can be completed before or after the practical day.

The one-day practical part of the course provides dual certification, combining 6 hours of practical Paediatric First Aid and 1 hour of Emergency First Aid at Work.

All staff receive an EFAW certificate, in addition, staff who complete the Paediatric eLearning will receive a Full Paediatric First Aid certificate.

Our First Aid for Schools Infant & Junior Course covers the following subjects:

  • Roles and Responsibilities of the First Aider

  • Assessing an Emergency Situation & Prioritising Action

  • Unresponsive Casualty (breathing) – Infant, Child & Adult

  • Unresponsive Casualty (not breathing) – Infant, Child & Adult

  • Choking – Infant, Child & Adult

  • Head Injuries

  • Seizures

  • Burns, Bleeds & Shock

  • Anaphylaxis

Duration:

6 Hours of practical training excluding breaks.

This In-House course can be run at times to suit you. We recommend starting at approx. 9.00 as this will enable the course to finish at 16.30.

As part of our environmental policy, all certificates will be available as a link and PDF download on completion. Our e-certificates are valid certification and accepted by all governing bodies and accreditations centres. Your e-certificate will have a unique QR Code that can be validated and verified via our website.

For our EFAW courses certificates are also available as credit card style certificates for use in a lanyard or wallet, please contact us to discuss this option.

Your certificate is valid for three years and meets the full HSE and EYFS criteria.

Essential info:

Please wear suitable clothes; loose fitting trousers, leggings, or jeans. We advise against wearing a skirt or anything short that may leave you feeling uncomfortable during practical assessments.

To meet the certification requirements all learners must be assessed whilst performing practical elements of the course, some of which will require you to kneel on the floor. Please ensure that you can physically fulfil these practical requirements.

Make sure to bring photo ID - our trainer will request sight of this for certification purposes.
